The Nature Stewardship Framework (NSF) introduces a new class of environmental assets called Nature Stewardship Credits (NSCs) to recognize and reward measurable biodiversity conservation, ecological restoration, and sustainable livelihoods. Unlike traditional carbon credits, NSCs capture the full spectrum of ecosystem benefits, integrating biodiversity, socio-economic impact, and governance into a holistic, high-integrity framework. The NSF establishes a Nature Stewardship Index (NSI) to quantify project outcomes and includes rigorous Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) requirements to ensure transparency and accountability.
