New methodology launched for Peatland Restoration

SOCIALCARBON publishes a new methodology and module for the restoration of peatland. The first module enables the quantification of emission reductions from the rewetting of drained peatland on agricultural land in temperate climatic regions.

First credits issued under SOCIALCARBON v6.0

The first issuance of carbon credits under the SOCIALCARBON Standard was completed by BlueGreen Water Technologies, treating the toxic algae bloom occurring at the Mantua Reservoir in Utah resulted in the issuance of ~13,000 verified carbon credits.

SOCIALCARBON becomes ICROA approved
On the 1st March 2023, SOCIALCARBON was endorsed by ICROA. ICROA Accredited Organisations will be able to use SOCIALCARBON credits with immediate effect.
This represents a big milestone from the Standard, validating its quality and supporting the project developers using the Standard to develop projects that benefit people and planet.
